Corporate identity

The Marketing Practice is able to work with clients to design a new corporate identity that can be used for all purposes such as business cards, letterheads, web sites, advertising, signage, vehicle livery and exhibitions etc.

In this example Fibreforce Composites (at the time a part of Shell) wanted a completely new corporate identity that reflected the key selling point of all its products—strength and corrosion resistance.

Fibreforce manufacture a range of composite pultrusions that on a weight-for-weight basis are stronger than structural steel, but with the added advantage that they are lighter than steel and corrosion resistant.

The company felt that its old corporate identity failed to communicate a message of strength. The Marketing Practice was tasked with developing a new corporate identity that was bold and strong and that also contained elements of what composte pultrusions are—reinforcing fibres within composite material. We were also briefed that the new corporate colours should be shades of blue, rather than red, as they were at the time.

We came up with a total of eight alternative design concepts, with the third one down being the one that was finally chosen. See below to see how this new corporate identity was applied to a new brochure we also produced for the company.

A new corporate identity and a new brochure

After choosing their new corporate identity Fiberforce asked us to produce a new brochure that reinforced their key message of strength, robustness and products tough enough for the most arduous applications.

We came up with two slogans: Replacing Metals Where it Matters and More Mettle than Metal that were used in the brochure, on the company's web site and in advertising. The editorial style of the brochure was bold and forthright and we combined this with dramatic photography (sourced from the client, the client's customers and royalty free images to keep costs down) showing tough applications where Fibreforce's products exelled.

The company's new image, and new brochure, combined with an advertising and PR campaign was soon generating over 100 new enquiries a week!

We're very happy to work with companies that have limited marketing resources as well as larger companies with a substancial spend. We also understand that one of your greatest assets is time and we're very good at working with busy engineers, or engineering marketing managers, who don't have a lot of it. On many occasions we're able to complete projects without face-to-face meetings even being necessary, saving your time and further reducing costs.
